Why a Showroom Visit is Important in Buying Doors

21/12/2022

Reality often doesn’t match expectations. This is especially the case with buying online without seeing the actual product in person.

For example, ecommerce return rates are often around 20 to 30 per cent. In other words, some customers might be returning 20 per cent of the items they buy online. The reason could be wrong sizing or the colour of the product when it arrived doesn’t just exactly match what’s expected.

As a case of a mismatch between reality and expectations, the entire process can be a huge hassle. You have to contact the ecommerce store, state your reason for the return and perhaps wait for a few days or even weeks before the return is processed. Then, you might start all over again because you’ll choose another item or another store. Note that the return and eventual delivery of the new item can take days.

Why a showroom visit is often practical

To prevent those problems mentioned above and actually help you save time (because return won’t be necessary in the first place), you can visit a showroom instead. This is often practical especially when you buy items that require the exact colour, size and design. This is about seeing the real product first before bringing out your wallet.

For example, when buying a door, you have to make sure that its design, size and colour exactly matches or complements your home structure, design and theme. When you visit a door showroom, you know exactly what the door looks like and you will feel right there if it’s right for your home.

In contrast, just seeing it online often won’t be enough to know if the door is perfect for your home. Also, there might be slight differences about the colour and shade of doors when you see it in person compared to when you just see it online or in pictures. You also won’t be able to see the fine details such as texture when you’re just browsing an online catalog.

You can still start with browsing online to get an idea of what’s available. But the next step should always be arranging for a visit to the door showroom and see the actual product. This way, you can truly explore your options and perhaps even see an item that’s not yet listed on online stores or website.
